We invite you to a canoe safari at Most na Soči, in the beautiful Soča River Valley.
Program
We will take a canoe trip on one of the most beautiful alpine lakes, Most na Soči, which stretches 7 kilometers between the mountains and is up to 700 meters wide. It is characterized by a unique emerald green color. Its waters are rich in fish-the most famous of which is the marble trout-but it is also home to many birds and, along its shores, a wide variety of wildlife. During the tour, in the company of an experienced boatman who is also a local guide, we will learn about the history of the place and the area, which has been marked by many important historical events-from the St. Lucia culture of the 8th century B.C. to World War I and the turning point of Caporetto in 1917.
You will hear many interesting stories about the Tolmin peasants' revolt, the Old Believers, Dante Alighieri's stay in our area, and much more to discover.
